What We Produce
Watan Farms produces several commodities from an integrated production system
Animal Feed and Fodder
We produce high-quality energy feeds from silage of locally adapted crops including Napier grass, maize and sorghum.
Our hay are from Rhodes and Sudan grass provide roughage while protein comes from legumes suited to our local conditions, such as Leucaena, lucerne, lablab, cowpea and desmodium.
Beef Cattle and Sheep
Animals are finished on home-grown rations and sold live, supported by a rigorous health programme which includes quarantine on arrival, a full vaccination schedule, routine disease control and individual weight monitoring throughout the finishing period.
The livestock enterprise is Halal-compliant throughout and supplies both local processors and regional export buyers with premium animals backed by complete health and traceability documentation.
Organic Vegetables
We grow a selected variety of vegetables and herbs under an organic production system.
These include peppers, hot chilli and culinary herbs in open-field and under greenhouse conditions. This mainly depends on the compost generated by our own livestock.
